How Your Money Is Spent
Irvington’s custom fiberglass bulldog statues are fabricated and shipped at a cost of $700 each. Statues arrive “blank”, ready for painting and crafting. We must pre-order statues as early as possible beating out dozens of other public galleries across the US, and secure our order with a 50% upfront deposit to reserve our custom production window.
While fabrication is underway, Sponsors review designs submitted by local artists to the Arts & Culture Committee. Once designs are approved, artists pick up a statue and begin process that take 25-40 hours of work. Statues are then returned to the committee, and we have them spray coated for approximately $175 each. We also purchase custom engraved plaques, and mount statues on display stands that need repair each year. Plus there are numerous hardwar, supply, marketing printing costs. Sponsorship is essential to make the gallery possible, but it does not cover the cost of the gallery, including the artists time. For this reason, at the end of the gallery we auction each statue.

FAQs
How does The Bulldog Gallery Community Art Project work?
Artists who wish to participate create colored sketches of designs for the fiberglass bulldogs who are in a loyal sitting position. The completed designs are submitted to the Committee, and the sponsor or co-sponsors choose the design or designs they like. The artists then transform each bulldog for the Spring unveiling. Statues are on display from May through September.
Where do the bulldogs go after the summer?
Following their summer on the street, the bulldogs are auctioned off at our annual “Bulldog Gallery” online auction. The profits are then divided up.
In appreciation for their work, the artists receive a percentage of the amount their bulldog raises at auction. The rest goes towards the benefit of the community and local art initiatives.
How will my sponsorship be recognized?
All sponsors’ names appear on the placards next to their statue (on the platform) as well as in the Bulldog Gallery Guide and Map, and our social media campaigns.
I’m not sure if I’m ready to sponsor. Can I speak with someone first?

I want to pay by check instead of online. Is that possible?
